We Need Your Help!
There are many ways for community members to help SVDP Food Pantry in this time of increased need and uncertainty.
Volunteer! Working a regular shift is the most helpful at the pantry. We need more volunteers M, W, and F afternoons for a 3 hour distribution shift, and 3 hour morning inventory help on W, Th and F mornings. Volunteering for a shift at the Thrift Stop also helps. Sales are M,W.F from 1:30-4:00 pm.
Donate Food and Hygiene items! We are collecting food items with a Thanksgiving theme to hand out to families in November. Here are a few ideas: stuffing mix, potatoes ( instant or fresh), cranberry sauce, onions, gravy mix, baking mixes for desserts.
Hygiene items: shampoo, bar soap, toothpaste, laundry soap, dish soap, toilet paper, and feminine hygiene products.
Donate money! We purchase between ten and twelve thousand pounds of food from LBFS each month, but we still have to go out and purchase items when our stock is depleted. Donating to LBFS helps our entire community and stretches your dollars the farthest. ( $1 buys approximately 9 pounds of food, think nine cans of chili). Donating directly to SVDP Food Pantry helps us to purchase extra produce and hygiene items.
Please share the word with friends, neighbors and community associations. Your donation of time and money at any Food Pantry helps our whole community.
